Department of Music and Choreography represents such specialties as “Music” and “Choreography”. Students obtain vocal, choral conducting, music instrument playing skills. They receive profound theoretical and practical knowledge in music education, methods of teaching, classical, folk and theatrical, ballroom, modern dance choreography. Faculty graduates become teachers of Music, Dance, Art Culture, Ethics, Aesthetics, Music and Dance directors. The high level of student professional training is annually confirmed by their victories in international, national, regional competitions and festivals. Soloists and groups regularly participate in cultural city and University events.

     With the beginning of the new academic year, students and teachers of Music and Choreography Compartment of Faculty of Arts of Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University have been actively joining to the circle of participants and members of the jury of International, All-Ukrainian festivals, vocal projects and win various prizes.

     Soloists of the People’s Studio of Ukrainian Song "Оберіг" (artistic director is Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor L.I.Kosiak; concertmaster is O.V.Laduba) took part in the IV All-Ukrainian Festival of Cossack Song. Yelyzaveta Zyhalo, Viktoriia Yevtushenko, Anna Morozova, Danylo Udovichenko and Viktor Vengrus decorated the festival with special singing colors.

     Also soloists of the folk studio of Ukrainian song "Оберіг" – Yelyzaveta Zyhalo, a master’s student and Viktoriia Yevtushenko, a second-year student – won the first places in the VII International Festival-Competition "Промені натхнення" of the creative project "ТріумфFest" in Kryvyi Rih (October 20, 2021).

     The soloists and the duo of the folk vocal studio “DreamSound” (artistic director is Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor E.O.Kokareva; concertmaster I.V.Mukosii) brought victory to Faculty of Arts at the International Festival-Competition "Квітуча Україна" in Kyiv: laureates of the 1^st awards are Kateryna Kulakevych and Tetiana Atachuk as well as the duo “Soul’s voice”, consisting of Anastasiia Barasii and Olha Serentiuk.

     Students of the Faculty are also inspired to conquer the peaks of professional skill by the example of their lecturers. Associate Professor of Music Education, Vocal and Choir Conducting Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Margarita Viktorova impressed all the stars of the show business on the vocal project "Співають всі".

     Lecturer of Music Education, Vocal and Choir Conducting Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor L.I.Kosiak as the Chairman of the Jury in the nomination “Vocal Art” objectively and meticulously evaluated the contestants at the VIII International Festival-Competition "Промені натхнення".
