From October 31 to November 5, 2021, in the city of Bad Kissingen (Germany) was held the International Seminar “Central European Meetings”, organized for the youth of Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic and Ukraine. Representatives of Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University were invited to participate in this event.

The event was organized by the Federal Ministry of the Interior of Germany. The seminar presented reports on the history, politics and culture of the three countries in the context of their relations with Germany. The target audience is students from different countries.

The representatives of Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University were the Rector of KSPU, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Ya.V.Shramko, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of German Language and Literature and Methods of its Teaching V.A.Karpiuk, lecturer of the Department of German Language and Methods of its Teaching V.O.Tursky and second- and fourth-year students of Faculty of Foreign Languages, majoring in German Language and Literature.

The report on “Cooperation between Germany and Ukraine in the humanitarian, educational and social spheres” was made by the Rector of KSPU Ya.V.Shramko. The report aroused considerable interest of those present: they were very interested in learning a lot about Ukraine.

Ya.V.Shramko noted (translated): “Such events are very useful for our students, because they get the opportunity to communicate with students from other countries, to feel themselves the part of the European community. Our students have learned a lot of new and important information about native speakers of the language they are learning, which will be a good motivation when learning foreign languages and realizing their potential”.

The conference program included reports, discussions, interactive parts (almost every speaker asked questions to the participants and then the students made small presentations) and some entertainment elements (tour of famous places).

V.A.Karpiuk told (translated): “This is not the first time we have joined this seminar: every year we receive an invitation from the Central European Academy. Each event has a certain thematic specificity. Participation in a seminar of this level contributes to the international academic mobility of both students and lecturers, which is very important. For students it also means the opportunity to implement educational, practical (communication with German speakers and representatives of other countries) and developmental (obtaining additional information about the country) components. We had the opportunity to visit various excursions in Bad Kissingen and neighboring cities, as a part of this seminar. This was a good opportunity for lecturers to present our country and establish contacts with representatives of other countries”.
