On the 16th of April fourth-year students of the specialty 014.06 Secondary Education (Chemistry) visited metallurgical enterprise Public Joint-Stock Company “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih”, which is a steel plant unique in its size and structure within transnational corporation “ArcelorMittal”. The excursion was organized according to the plan of student technological practice. The students had an opportunity to see with their own eyes steel production processes they had studied theoretically in the training course “Chemical technology”. Excursion program included visiting ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih museum and section-rolling shop-1. Students and teachers are grateful to the stuff of the enterprise for hospitability and patience (sometimes they were overwhelmed with questions and emotions), to administration for support and organization of favourable conditions. They also hope for continued cooperation in the future.

On the 15th of April 2021 VII historical and regional study readings “Kryvorizhzhia: looking back into the past…” were held via Zoom. This local history forum has become a traditional (annual) platform for communication of investigators of our native city history and everybody interested in this topic. In the introductory statement Vice-rector in scientific work, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor V.A. Hamaniuk highlighted growing currentness of such event on the basis of Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical University, which is proved by constantly increasing number of participants.
A specific feature of this year’s historical and regional study readings “Kryvorizhzhia: looking back into the past…” is the fact that they are conducted in merged on-line and off-line formats”, - pointed out a co-organizer of the event, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor N.A. Pechenina in her opening statement at the beginning of the second part of regional study readings. It was held in face-to-face format initiated by members of a public organization “A candle of memory”, whose activity is aimed at restoration of historical justice regarding “black jacket soldiers” (black infantry) who were killed in city liberation battles in western suburbs of Kryvyi Rih within October 1943-March 1944.

On the 1st of April the Department of Tourism and Economy of Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University acted as a co-orginizer and active participant of VII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Theoretical and applied trends of tourism and recreation in the regions of Ukraine” held on the basis of Flying Academy of NAU in the city of Kropyvnytskyi. A number of articles were prepared on the part of the Department of Tourism and Economy by Volodymyr Kazakov and Viktoriia Patsiuk in collaboration with the fourth year students of the specialty “Tourism” Andriy Huda, Oleksandr Matishchuk and Dariia Shyian. The conference was included into action plan for professional advancement of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Within implemetation of the whole-department topic “Ecological conditionality of structural and functional organization of natural and anthropologically transformed biogeocenoses” and activities of scientific research laboratory “Ecology of Kryvbus vegetation”, teachers of the department continue to develop a cost accounting topic “Postproject monitoring of influence of planned operations on mining limestones and clay usable as concrete raw materials, of Zhovtokamiansk deposit (section №3) situated in Apostolovo district of Dnipropetrovsk region, on condition of flora and fauna” (agreement №39122 of 28th October 2019, supervisor – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Assosiate Professor E.O.Yevtushenko).
In 2021 preparation for publishing of the next sixth issue of the collection of scientific and scientific methodological works “Environmental Journal of Kryvorizhzhia” is going on (chief editor - Candidate of Biological Sciences, Assosiate Professor V.M. Savosko, members of editorial board: Candidate of Biological Sciences I.O. Komarova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences N.V.Gnilusha, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences O.O. Kobriushko, Candidate of Biological Sciences Ya.V. Malenko).

On the 24th of March a study and research laboratory of the Department of Physics and methods of its teaching was visited by pupils of Kryvyi Rih secondary school №51. They had an interesting talk about physics around us – Magical Physics! Schoolchildren were demonstrated striking physical experiments with waves of different physical nature – mechanical, sound and electromagnetic.

On the 25th of November 2020 a study and research laboratory was opened at the Department of Physics and methods of its teaching.
Modern digital equipment of American company Vernier, a leading supplier of equipment for world educational esteblishments, was bought for the laboratory. It is equipped with demonstration equipment and specialized laboratory furniture.
All these enables quality practical training of future Physics teachers on a modern level, conducting scientific research for course and qualification papers, involving gifted students into scientific work within Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, providing refresher training of Physics teachers of Kryvyi Rih and the region.

On the 19th of February 2021 an exhibition of a famous Kryvyi Rih artist “My plein air paintings” was opened in the exhibition hall of the Faculty of Arts. It is a creative report for the sixtieth anniversary of O.S. Yurchenko. A member of Ukrainian Artists’ Union, a master of landscape, our colleague Oleksandr Serhiiovych presented his plein air works – graphics and landscapes over the past 4 years. His paintings are so vibrant and real that you feel like you are in the place depicted on the canvas. Oleksandr Serhiiovych has managed to combine colour realism of impressionism and exciting philosophy of modern art trend in his landscapes. They are truly fascinating sights hymning fabulous beauty of Transcarpathia.

On the 29th of March the teachers of the Department of general technical disciplines and vocational training associate professor O.O. Tsys and assistant I.O. Arhipov gave a lecture on the topic “Modeling of innovative vocational training lessons” and a master class entitled “Use of augmented and virtual reality technologies in professional training of future teachers” within the framework of refresher courses for teachers. They presented technologies of augmented and virtual reality and demonstrated examples of their application in vocational training lessons.

Traineeship is an important step to pedagogical mastery. On the twenty- second of March, 2021 a final conference on pedagogical practice for 4th year students of the Faculty of psychology and pedagogy took place. The practice was in primary education and second specialty (computer science, English, practical psychology). Teachers (Pavlyk O.A., Onishchenko I.V., Zichkov A.K.), psychologists (Miroshnyk Z.M., Gorbacheva O.Y.), primary education methodists (Bilokonna N.I., Pavlyk O.A., Onishchenko I.V., Kisilova-Bila V.P., Lysevich O.V., Lysogor L.P., Fedorova L.G., Kravtsova I.A.) and methodists of the second speciality (Matsepura L.L., Kharadzhan N.A., Zakarliuka I.S.) analyzed the results of practice, identified positive aspects, pointed out weaknesses and gave advice for the future. Students shared their impressions and demonstrated presentations.

University Student Olympiad in Philosophy-2021 was held on the 3d of March. 20 best second year students took part in the discussions. The topic of the Olympiad 2021 was “Post-industrial Society”. The students discussed philosophical models of post-industrial society, the role of intellectual capital and ways of overcoming stereotypes in modern informational society.
